I’ve been blessed to take care of this young family for almost a year now…mom, dad and little girl (we’ll call her “Amy”). Both parents work hard and about a 2 months ago they both changed jobs and moved into a new house within a week. That’s a stressful time for the entire family. With moving and schedule changes we weren’t able to check and adjust Amy for about 3 weeks. This beautiful little girl started fussing and pulling on her ears…her parents were trained to take her to a pediatrician and their pediatrician was trained to give antibiotics to an ear infection.
Within hours of taking those trained anitbiotics, Amy had diarrhea of the explosive kind. She didn’t sleep that night and fortunately her dad had an adjustment with Amy the following day at our office. He shared what happened and then I explained how the body functions…most kids have ear infections because pressure and fluid build in their ears and bacteria take advantage of that stagnent fluid and create an ear infection. If the body were able to clear the pressure and fluid out of the ear then that opportunistic bacteria wouldn’t have a place to thrive…therefore no ear infection. The purpose of antibiotics is kill the bacteria, but if the bacteria isn’t the main cause of illness then why would we need that medication? There is a choice.
Chiropractic sees ear infections differently…When the body drains the ear, the pressure is gone and the infection is cleared through the body’s natural immune system. If there is a subluxation in the upper cervicals, those nerves control the muscle that controls the eustachian tube which drains the ear…the body is designed to BE HEALTHY. Instead of taking the antibiotics with painful diarrhea as an effect, Chiropractors adjust kids (and adults) to keep ear infections away and the body functions better.
Isn’t it easier to keep something clean and clear than to mop up a mess? Get Checked. Get Adjusted. BE Healthy.
P.S. – Amy got adjusted, ear infection cleared within 24 hours, slept incredible and hasn’t had an issue since.
